Get To Know The Spectrum Team

After announcing our expanded executive team last week, we are going to introduce our team members and learn more about what their role is within Spectrum, their responsibilities, what experience they possess within the sector and lots more.

We’re excited to have such a talented team on board who will deliver on our promise to install full fibre broadband to 150,000 premises across south Wales. As a result of this expansion, we have already begun our recruitment efforts to create over 140 jobs. Sally-Anne Skinner, CRO

Sally-Anne is the Chief Revenue Officer at Spectrum and has spent the last 23 years working in a variety of leadership roles in the residential telecoms sector, for brands including Sky, ntl, and Centrica. She has extensive people management experience, having run large sales teams, and developed head office management structures to deliver against business KPIs.

In her new role as Chief Revenue Officer at Spectrum, Sally-Anne will head up the sales teams across residential and business, driving the uptake of full fibre across South Wales.

Get to know Sally-Anne:

What is your job role and responsibilities?

As Chief Revenue Officer I am responsible for driving acquisition of customers across both residential and business. I also look after the product development and pricing.

How long have you been at Spectrum?

I joined Spectrum in the middle of October 2020.

What do you enjoy most about your job and why?

I love the variety of my role. Every day is different which keeps things interesting.

What do you most enjoy about working/living in Wales?

I am a Newport girl born and bred, but lived in London for 20 years, so I love the fact that, now I am home, I can be in the countryside within 15 minutes of leaving my front door.

Tell us something that no-one knows about you 

I am a qualified personal trainer!

What one tech item could you not live without? Why? 

My Fitbit! I am obsessed with the number of steps I take! Maybe that’s just the personal trainer in me…

Steve Wigley-Jones, Construction Director 

Steve Wigley-Jones is the Construction Director at Spectrum and has spent the past 42 years working in a variety of senior roles across the telecoms sector. Steve has worked in engineering, client management and fibre delivery for brands such as BT and Openreach. He has also led major commercial and government funded fibre delivery programmes across the UK .

Since joining Spectrum as Head of Infrastructure and Fibre Asset Manager, Steve has delivered several successful DCMS funded projects. In his current role, he is leading the end-to-end delivery of Spectrum’s full fibre roll-out across south Wales.

What is your job role and responsibilities?

As Construction Director, I am responsible for all aspects of construction, from design to customer readiness.

How long have you been at Spectrum?

I joined Spectrum in May 2019.

What do you enjoy most about your job and why?

Being able to leave a legacy that will have a positive impact on people and businesses. Good connectivity has never been so important.

What do you most enjoy about working/living in Wales?

I was born and bred in s Wales, so it is great to have the opportunity to work within my local communities after spending most of my career on projects outside Wales.

Tell us something that no-one knows about you.

I am a fully qualified basketball coach and I learned to play the drums in a samba band.

What one tech item could you not live without? Why? 

My iPad. It is everything I need in one device.

Michelle Lesch, Company Secretary and Executive Assistant

Michelle has just been appointed to a challenging new role as the Company Secretary and is the Executive Assistant to the CEO at Spectrum. She has spent the past 20 years working in customer service environments in operational and high level administrative positions. She is passionate about driving excellence and continual improvement within businesses in order to deliver a world class standard.

What is your job role and responsibilities?

As Company Secretary and Executive Assistant to the CEO, my duties include supporting the Chairman and Board and maintaining good shareholder relations – helping ensure that the company complies with all the necessary codes, and legal and statutory requirements. I also oversee the day-to-day administration of the company and help the wider Spectrum team as we grow. 

How long have you been at Spectrum?

I joined Spectrum in August 2018.

What do you enjoy most about your job and why?

Spectrum really supports staff learning and the company is sponsoring me to undertake a great development course at the moment. Working with such experienced colleagues also exposes me to a multitude of skills from which I am able to learn. Being part of a growing team that is working towards delivering a massive project presents an opportunity for me to prove my worth! 

What do you most enjoy about working/living in Wales?

I love the beautiful landscape which I soak up during long walks with my dogs and the Welsh accent is gorgeous! As I am trying to learn Welsh it helps to be surrounded by the language.

Tell us something that no-one knows about you.

I am a qualified scuba diver and enjoy knitting.

What one tech item could you not live without? Why?

My Sonos sound system! I love music and it can NEVER be too loud!

Lisa Hand, People Director

Lisa is responsible for driving Spectrum’s overall people strategy, core values and ways of working to enable the Company’s long term success. Lisa heads up our People Team who lead on the provision of all people related activities from recruitment and onboarding to employee engagement, training and development.

Lisa has over 12 years experience in Human Resources working across the public, private and not for profit sectors. Her most recent experience was at Sigma Systems where she was responsible for growing the team and all other people related activities in the UK, Europe and Asia.

As People Director, I’m responsible for driving Spectrum’s overall people strategy, core values and ways of working to enable the company’s long term success.

How long have you been at Spectrum?

I joined Spectrum in September 2020

What do you enjoy most about your job and why?

Our people are at the core of our priorities at Spectrum. I really enjoy being able to help build the team, support everyone to be successful in what they do today and to enable people to grow their career with Spectrum.

What do you most enjoy about working/living in Wales?

Living in such a beautiful country that has it all, beaches, mountains and great cities like our capital, Cardiff.

Tell us something that no-one knows about you

In a non-Covid world, aside from my family, my real passion in life is travel. So far I have travelled to over 25 countries and plan to add many more to that list in the future.

What one tech item could you not live without? Why?

My iPhone because it holds so many photographs of my children over the years.
