Monmouthshire High Streets are Re-Opening!
The COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown has affected every single business in the UK, large and small. However, many larger corporations fortunately could resort to their digital platforms, to sell their products and services online. However, high street retailers that rely on people physically visiting their shops suffered, as foot traffic fell. In early May 2020, the research firm Springboard found that footfall in UK high streets fell by 83.3%, as the general public obeyed the lockdown measures put in place by the Government.
However, now we are beginning to see high streets slowly coming back to life, and local shops are starting to re-open. So, now more than ever it is crucial that we as consumers actively support our local, independent businesses wherever we can. Even buying your coffee once a week from a local café, rather than a chain can make a real difference.
We, at Spectrum internet believe in the power of shopping small, but don’t take it from us. Take a look at the video below to find out why the local businesses and residents in Chepstow love shopping locally…and why they think you should too!
