Foldable phone

2017 tech

Samsung has been working on bendable displays for years, but 2017 could be the first time we actually see it in a phone.

The company recently filed a patent for such a device, fuelling speculation that it’s coming soon.

New iPad

What we do know is that Apple will be back in 2017 with some shiny new iPads to wow the world with, so we’ve collected together all of the leaks and gossip we’ve heard so far about what’s incoming – hopefully we can simplify the current range of models at the same time.

New iMac

2017 tech

A possible reason behind this was the unavailability of Kaby Lake chips. The upcoming iMac is said to be compatible with virtual reality. It may also have a powerful GPU which will provide better and more realistic experience.

It is also speculated that the next generation iMac will provide a full flash storage and it will come in a slimmer design. Overall it would be lighter than the previously released versions.

The highly anticipated iMac is due for next Apple event in 2017 and Apple may also release the new iPad Pro 2.

iPhone 8

Another feature often found on Android phones is that of wireless charging, and it looks very likely that this will be included on the iPhone 8. Some rumours even suggest the Apple will include long-range wireless charging, with Bloomberg Business reporting that the company wants to impliment the game changing technology that could charge an iphone from several feet away, and could have it ready for 2017.

Google Smartwatch

2017 tech

Google delayed its big software update for Android Wear watches until 2017, and the company is expected to launch its own watch.

The circular smartwatches will be Google’s opportunity to inject new interest into its wearable computers, a category that’s been dominated by the Apple Watch so far.

Microsoft Surface Pro

We didn’t get a new Surface Pro in 2016 — that’s the first calendar year with no refresh since the Surface Pro debuted. We’ll be overdue for an update in 2017, so it’s pretty reasonable to expect one from Microsoft.

New VR Headsets that work with Windows 10

2017 tech

A new, free update coming to Windows 10 early next year will let just about anyone use a  VR headset with their PC.

The headsets will start at just $299 and come from a variety of companies like Dell, Asus, and Lenovo. That’s much cheaper than other headsets like the Oculus Rift.
